On 18 November 2018, partners Alexandra Munoz (Paris), Rupert Reece (London), counsel Saadia Bhatty (London) and senior advisor Karim Wissa (Cairo) had the pleasure to give a talk at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Arbitration (CRCICA) in Cairo, jointly organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Egypt, on "Managing Risks Through Dispute Resolution".
Rupert focused on the common issues faced by parties when choosing arbitration vs. litigation, as well as the use of interim measures, Saadia spoke on how to manage risks for investors and states through international investment arbitration, and Alexandra detailed the different ADR tools available to resolve disputes in a more cost efficient manner including dispute boards, expert adjudication and mediation.
The conference was attended by investors, state representatives, lawyers and judges, many of which contributed to the debate with their insightful questions.
