On 29 January 2016, a concession contract for the Strasbourg western bypass motorway (A 355) was signed between the French State (acting through the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy) and the concessionary company (a project company established by the winning consortium, comprising entities of the VINCI group).
The A 355 is a 24-km dual carriageway that will facilitate long-distance transit by avoiding necessary passage through Strasbourg city centre. This new motorway will add to the existing local road network, reduce congestion on the A 35, and improve road safety.
The concession contract is entered into for a term of 54 years, and covers the financing, design, construction, operation, upkeep and maintenance of the A 355. The investment amount exceeds 500 million euros.
The project will be entirely financed by VINCI, without State subsidies.
Gide advised the VINCI group with a team comprising partners Thomas Courtel and Eric Cartier-Millon, counsel Marie Bouvet-Guiramand, and associates Farah El-Bsat, Anne Framezelle, Foucaud Jaulin and Clément Nourrisson.
