Why did you choose Gide?
I had spent several years in the education sector and wanted to broaden my professional horizons by joining a French company with a strong foothold abroad. From the very first interview, I understood that joining Gide would enable me to continually meet new challenges in a demanding environment where “routine” was clearly not part of the corporate jargon.
I integrated Gide in 2001 as a bilingual assistant. In 2004, I took an internal exam and changed function to become an Accounts Manager in charge of the Banking & Finance and Projects departments.
A professional high?
January 2015, when I was promoted to being in charge of billing training for the firm, on top of my daily billing duties. Above and beyond the professional recognition, this was a chance to share my experience and my knowledge on a daily basis with my peers in Paris and in the four corners of the globe. It is very gratifying. Starting the day in English by helping and aiding the progress of my colleagues in Asia, then moving steadily westwards as the day progresses (Istanbul, Warsaw, Tunis, Casablanca etc.), and finishing with New York is very rewarding, both from a relational and a cultural point of view.
How do you see your future with Gide?
With my new position as Senior Accounts Manager since January 2017 in charge of four departments in Paris as well as our offices in Asia, i.e. 24 partners, 100 associates and 10 billing officers to support every day, I think my future at Gide will be just as fascinating and exciting as my past and present within the firm!
Training officer (human resources)
Why did you choose Gide?
At the time, I knew someone who worked as an assistant in this major law firm, and she convinced me to apply.
One of your professional highs?
After two years as an assistant within the Employment department and eight years within the Tax department, Gide gave me the chance to advance my career by joining the Human Resources department as training officer - a brand new challenge!
How do you see your future with Gide?
Facilitating contact at Gide by helping people develop their professional training, while at the same time advancing my own skills in this new career, is a really fantastic opportunity.
Bilingual secretary
Why did you choose Gide?
Gide is a well-known firm of international dimension, and both these elements attracted my attention. Having previously worked in a smaller outfit, integrating a major firm like Gide was highly motivating.
First steps at Gide?
I joined the Mergers & Acquisitions department in 2012, and the lawyers trusted me from the beginning. The good atmosphere between assistants further strengthened my desire to work as part of a team.
How do you see your future with Gide?
I would like to continue as I have begun, i.e. working alongside the lawyers of my team, helping them and freeing them of administrative tasks on a daily basis so that they may concentrate on their legal cases at hand.
