Gide has advised Grupo Planeta, a media leader in Spain, on the sale to French media group Vivendi of 100% of the share capital and voting rights of Editis.
The agreement between Grupo Planeta and Vivendi was signed on 15 November 2018, with a corporate value of EUR 900 million. The sale was finalised on 31 January 2019.
Gide's team advising Grupo Planeta on this transaction was steered by partners Olivier Diaz and Charles de Reals, with associates Aurore Martinelli and Julien Bracq on corporate aspects, partner Magali Buchert on tax aspects, and partner Franck Audran on competition aspects.
Vivendi was advised by Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier and Bompoint.
