Gide has advised Future Positive Capital on setting up its fund management company and in structuring its first investment fund which closed at EUR 51 million.
Future Positive Capital, co-founded by Sofia Hmich, Alexandre Terrien and Michael Rosen launches its first fund dedicated to start-ups that use advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, synthetic biology, genetics and other deep technologies to solve problems such as feeding the world’s population sustainably, tackling climate change, and coping with an ageing population.
Future Positive Capital will invest in Seed and Series A to build up a focused portfolio of approximately 20 companies, with investment tickets ranging from EUR 300,000 to 5 million.
Gide's team comprised partner Ann Baker, counsel Rima Maîtrehenry, senior associate Scott Logan and associate Kikoun Coulibaly on structuring the fund. Corporate aspects were handled by partner Alexis Pailleret and associate Diane Jouffroy. Tax aspects were handled by partner Christian Nouel.
