China | Gide awarded 'Banking & Finance Deal of the Year 2014' by China Business Law Journal for the successful financing of the sale of Alcatel-Lucent Entreprise to China Huaxin
Gide has been awarded 'China Banking & Finance Deal of the Year 2014' by China Business Law Journal in relation to the financing of the sale of Alcatel-Lucent's subsidiary Alcatel-Lucent Entreprise to China Huaxin Post & Telecommunication Economy Development Center (China Huaxin).
The USD 250 million transaction was mainly financed by a loan provided by the Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank), one of the three institutional banks in China that promotes the export of Chinese products and services.
Gide was one of the advisors of the China Exim Bank, and drafted the pledge agreement, assisted pledge procedures and provided China Exim Bank with legal memos.
The Gide team advising the China Exim Bank was led by Fan Jiannian, partner in Shanghai, with assistance from Thomas Binet, counsel based in Paris, and Huang Jie, senior associate based in Shanghai.
