Always striving to identify and promote talented individuals, Gide announces the results of its Challenge, held in 2016 for the third consecutive year. The winners receive a cash prize of up to €3,000 and the possibility of completing their final student lawyer internship at the firm.
Open to all students admitted to regional bar schools and who have entered law school, this recruitment operation rewards the best cover letters on the topic “the best lawyer is also one’s own best advocate”.
The anonymous cover letters were selected on the basis of writing talent, relevance and originality, in an approach intended to find excellence regardless of the author’s academic training to date.
The firm received, once again, many cover letters. The jury, comprising Baudouin de Moucheron (Senior Partner), Laurent Modave (partner and member of the Executive Committee), Foulques de Rostolan (partner), Bénédicte Mazel (partner), Frédéric Nouel (partner), Antoine de la Gatinais (partner) and Philippe Dupichot (senior counsel), selected the ten best letters and asked the ten finalists for an interview.
At the end of this process, the following students were awarded the top five spots:
1. In first place, Léa Bussy wins a cash prize of €3,000 euros and a paid internship (€2,300 gross/month).
2. Runner-up, Charles Lemoine wins a cash prize of €2,000 euros, and a paid internship (€2,300 gross/month).
3. From third to fifth place, Guérin Loisel, Anissa Yaoudarène and Antoine Pellet each win a cash prize of €1,000, and a paid internship (€2,300 gross/month).
Laurent Modave highlights that “this third edition was once again a success and we were very impressed by the quality of the letters and the inspiration of the applicants”.
On behalf of all the partners of the firm, the jury would like to thank all participants for their time and effort, and is looking forward to repeating the Challenge in 2018.
