26 November 2012: Gide Loyrette Nouel ("Gide") is pleased to announce the appointment of two new equity partners, in the Competition / International Trade, and Public & Administrative Law and Projects (Finance & Infrastructure) practice groups.

Laurent Godfroid - GLN Brussels - Competition/International Trade
Admitted to the Brussels and Paris Bars, Laurent Godfroid joined the Gide Brussels office in 2003. He specialises in European and competition law (mergers, restrictive trade practices, abuse of dominant position and state subsidies) and is a member of the Competition/International Trade practice group. Laurent has developed significant expertise in the fields of rail and air transport, the media and the Internet. He mainly acts before the European Commission and the European jurisdictions based in Luxembourg. Laurent recently represented the SNCF before the European Commission regarding Eurostar and Keolis deals, and is currently working on a case of abuse of dominant position brought by the European Commission against Google. Laurent holds an LL.M. in international law from the University of Leicester (UK) as well as an LL.M. in European Law from the College of Europe (Bruges).
Bénédicte Mazel - GLN Paris - Public & Administrative Law - Projects (Finance & Infrastructure)
Bénédicte Mazel was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1999, and joined Gide Loyrette Nouel in the same year. Bénédicte holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) in public economic law (Droit public de l'économie) from the University of Paris II - Panthéon Assas. Her expertise covers two main fields: institutional restructuring of public bodies, from evaluating public sector assets through to externalising public services; construction, operation and financing of public equipment and infrastructures. She has recently advised the French government on the spatial communications project Nectar, and currently advises on the construction and operation of the Grand Stade in Lille, the building of motorway A63, the refurbishment of the Parc des Princes and the expansion of the Roland Garros stadium.
