The import licences regime and the volumes quota regime, as provided for by Law No. 15-15 dated 15 July 2015 and Executive Decree No. 15-306 dated 6 December 2015, experienced its first practical application with a list of food and agricultural products from the EU subject to the licences regime published on 5 January 2016 by the Algerian Ministry of Commerce on its website: click here.
This list specifies the quotas for each product as well as the corresponding customs duties, within a range from 5 to 30%.
To obtain a six-month licence, importers of the targeted products have from 5 January to 26 January 2016 to file a full application to the Trade Department of the territorially competent Wilaya.
