John Le Guen works in the Banking & Finance practice group. He specializes in the fields of financial services and new technologies applied to the banking and financial sector.
He advises financial institutions and FinTechs on the regulatory framework applicable to their activities. In particular, he deals with issues relating to digital assets (PSANs and ICOs), investment services, crowdfunding and post-trade regulation. He regularly participates in the different working groups in this area (HCJP, Paris Europlace, ADAN) and co-authored several publications on these topics.
Before joining Gide in 2018, John worked as a legal advisor at the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) where he was closely involved in drafting various regulations adopted in financial markets and crypto-assets fields.
He holds a Master's degree in banking and financial law from the University of Paris II and a Master's degree in law and finance from the University of Paris Dauphine, alongside his activity as compliance officer at Natixis. He is currently preparing a PhD on crypto-assets.
