Practices

John Le Guen is a member of Gide's "Gide 255" team in Paris. He specialises in innovation and FinTechs.

It advises French and international players - banking and financial institutions, asset management companies, digital asset service providers, participative finance service providers, online gambling and betting operators - as well as emerging players, on all the regulatory issues governing their activities. Its expertise covers the areas of financial services law, payments, asset management, crypto-assets, participatory finance, anti-money laundering and post-trade.

John is mainly involved in the legal and regulatory structuring of their activities (authorisation, marketing, compliance). Since 2021, he has been teaching asset management and banking and financial law applicable to FinTechs at Paris Dauphine University.

Before joining Gide, John worked in the legal affairs department of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), where he was involved in defining regulatory policies and drafting various structuring texts relating to securities and crypto-assets. He holds a Master's degree in banking and financial law from the University of Paris II and a Master's degree in law and finance from the University of Paris Dauphine, which he completed on a work-study basis as a compliance officer at Natixis. He is currently preparing a doctorate on crypto-assets.
