Samy Laghouati est associé responsable du Bureau d'Alger qu'il a créé en 2003. Il se consacre exclusivement aux projets et investissements réalisés en Algérie aussi bien en assistant et conseillant les entités publiques algériennes (gouvernement, entreprises publiques ) que les investisseurs étrangers. Il traite essentiellement des opérations de joint-venture, de grands projets d'infrastructures (Ouvrage d'art, dessalement d'eau, centrales électriques et combinées), opérations d'acquisitions et cessions d'entreprises.

Au cours des vingt dernières années, il a été impliqué dans la création des principales sociétés industrielles mixtes entre des entités publiques algériennes telles que Sonatrach, Sonelgaz, Asmidal, Sider et des partenaires étrangers tels que Total Energies, General Electric, Volkswagen, Siemens, Renault, Air Liquide, Linde Gas.

Il intervient depuis deux décennies dans le secteur amont des hydrocarbures en assistant régulièrement des sociétés comme Repsol, ENGIE, ENI, Total E&P, Sinopec.

Il a également développé une pratique et expertise en matière de règlement des différends entre associés et actionnaires dans le cadre de partenariats complexes (Joint-ventures, consortiums, contrats étatiques) tant devant les juridictions locales que les juridictions arbitrales internationales.

Samy Laghouati est régulièrement référencé comme Leading Individual en M&A / Corporate et Energy par les guides internationaux Chambers Global et Legal 500. Il figure depuis 2018 dans le nouveau classement The Legal 500 Hall of Fame, qui référence les avocats dont l'excellence est régulièrement mentionnée par les clients.
