Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2017, Clément Bouvarel is counsel within Gide's Competition & International Trade practice group in Brussels. He specialises in International trade defence instruments (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard procedures) and European and WTO law.
Clément's expertise covers European Union trade defence investigations as well as third country trade defence investigations (Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Gulf Cooperation Council), European export control and trade sanction rules, as well as disputes before European Courts. He notably assisted the European industry of biodiesel, steel, other metalurgical products and manufactured goods against unfair practices from third countries, as well as the Spanish ceramic industry in a Moroccan and GCC anti- dumping procedure. Clement also specialises in advisory and regulatory assistance for trade-related issues, such as free trade agreements and WTO compliance in several industrial sectors (energy, steel, paper, manufactured goods).
Clément studied at the ENS Cachan (law, economics and management) and holds a Master's degree in European law from Rennes I University, a Master's degree in international trade law from Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, and an LL.M. from Trinity College Dublin. He speaks French and English.
