Gide (Casablanca and London offices) has recently advised the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group) within the scope of the implementation of a USD30-million financing agreement granted to the Fez-Meknes region.
The purpose of this loan is to help the Fes-Meknes region fund (i) the program for the modernization of its rural road infrastructure and (ii) the purchase of disinfection and sterilization equipment and products with a view to curbing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The financing agreement was signed on Thursday December 17, 2020 by the President of the Council of the Fez-Meknes region, Mohand Laenser, and the IFC's Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure in the Middle East and Africa, Linda Munyengeterwa.
This is the second loan granted to the Kingdom of Morocco without Sovereign Guarantee.
The Gide team was led by partner Wacef Bentaibi and associate Benoit Pape on all Moroccan and public law aspects, and by partner Dimitrios Logizidis and associate Sarah Whitley on all English law aspects.
The Fez-Meknes region was advised by Mokhtari Avocats.
