Paul de France is a partner within Gide's Tax practice group.
Paul has a specific experience in transaction tax, namely in tax structuring of LBOs, Venture / Growth to LBO and M&A transactions. He also advises individuals and companies in tax audits and litigation, and developed a particular expertise in advising founders and management teams in the context of private equity deals.
Paul has recently been involved in significant transactions, such as the acquisition of Talend by Thoma Bravo - March 2021, the majority investment of Marlin Equity Partners in iBanFirst - July 2021 and the external growth of groups under LBO (Summit Partners/Veranex/IMMR - October 2021 and HIG/Time Manufacturing/France Elévateur - June 2022). In addition, Paul advised management teams in the structuring of their investments alongside the following investment funds: ICG (DomusVi) - July 2021, Tikehau (Egis), and Ardian and TA Associates (Odéalim) - June 2022.
Prior to joining Gide in November 2020, Paul was Deputy Tax Director of the Casino Group (2018-2020) where he was responsible for the implementation of several real estate divestitures (Monoprix), sale of the R2C, Vindemia and Leader Price subsidiaries, and the opening of the capital of Green Yellow. Paul previously spent several years with leading US law firms.
Paul is a graduate of the University of Paris-Dauphine (Master's degree in corporate taxation, 2007) and holds a Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion (DSCG, ex-DESCF, 2006). He speaks English and French.
