Gide has advised Michelin on signing a strategic partnership with TripAdvisor and its subsidiary TheFork, to combine the gastronomic selection expertise of the Michelin Guide with the power of the large customer audience provided by TripAdvisor and TheFork, plus the restaurant reservation system provided by TheFork.
From now on, the 14,000 restaurants selected in 30 countries by Michelin Guide inspectors will be identified by categories (Stars, Bib Gourmand and Michelin Plate) on the TripAdvisor and TheFork websites and applications. 4,000 restaurants in Europe will soon be accessible both on TheFork and on the Michelin Guide's digital platform.
This agreement coincides with the simultaneous sale of the British company Bookatable by Michelin to TheFork.
The Gide team that advised Michelin on signing this strategic partnership was led by partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre, working with associate Morgan Maréchal on M&A aspects, and partner Thierry Dor and associate Aurélie Pacaud on IT and data aspects.
DLA Piper advised Michelin in the United Kingdom on the sale of Bookatable to TheFork.
