On 1 October 2018, the City of Reims signed a concession agreement with project company RMSIEC, wholly owned by the Eiffage group.
The concession, entered into for a term of 25 years, concerns the construction of the city's main events arena ("Grande Salle Evènementielle"), the modernisation of the city's congress centre ("Centre des Congrès") and exhibition centre ("Parc des Expositions"), as well as the financing, operation and management of the three reception venues.
The 9,000-seat Grande Salle Evènementielle will host events and sporting competitions, most particularly basketball matches of local team Champagne Châlons Reims Basket.
Reims Expo Congrès Events, a company created by GL Events Venues, will manage the three venues.
The project represents an overall investment exceeding 75 million euros, mainly covered by bank financing provided by La Banque Postale and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG.
Eiffage was advised by Gide, with a team comprising partners Thomas Courtel and Marie Bouvet-Guiramand and associates Carmen Borgne, Alexandre Rennesson and Antoine Guyomard.
