Quechen Silicon Chemical Company, the leader of silica manufacturing in Asia and the owner of the biggest single silica production base in the world, will invest over 100 million euros to build a high-dispersion silica (HDS) manufacturing plant and a research and development centre in Fos on the land of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, the largest industrial port of the Mediterranean region. HDS is an innovative material used as the main component of "green" tyres: it reduces friction and thereby fuel consumption, while enhancing a vehicle’s safety performance.
Quechen was advised by Gide, which set up a team comprising partner Marie Bouvet-Guiramand and associate Yiran Bai on project issues, partner Foulques de Rostolan on employment issues, partner Nicolas Planchot on real estate issues and partner Jean-Nicolas Clément on environmental issues.
