Barcelona-based Marina Barcelona 92 (MB92), the superyacht refit and repair specialist company, has acquired a 75% shareholding in Compositeworks, the French refit shipyard.
It is the first large transaction by Marina Barcelona 92 since Turkish Dogus Group took it over in 2015.
Compositeworks is based at La Ciotat, on the French Riviera, together with German company Blohm+Voss, which MB92 partnered with at the beginning of the year to manage its shipyard.
Gide, in collaboration with Iberian law firm Cuatrecasas, advised MB92 on this transaction. The Gide team was led by partner Anne Tolila, assisted by senior associate Paul Jourdan-Nayrac. The Cuatrecasas team was made up by the Corporate and Commercial practice, led by partner Miguel Trías and senior associate Albert Trías de Bes for the transaction structuring and commercial aspects, and by the Finance practice, led by partner Manuel Follía for the banking and financial aspects.
