Gide and Bennani & Associés advise respectively Volkswagen AG and Sovac on setting up a joint venture to build an assembly plant in Algeria.
Sovac, Volkswagen’s long-standing distributor in Algeria, and Volkswagen group have finalised the setting up of a joint venture with a view to building an assembly plant in Algeria. It will progressively reach a capacity of 100 vehicles per day for Volkswagen, Seat and Škoda.
The Volkswagen Group will have a minority stake in the joint venture, whose assembly plant will be constructed on a site covering 150 hectares, 220 kilometres to the west of Algiers.

Bennani & Associés’ Algiers office advised Sovac, with partner Mourad Seghir and associate Salah Lammari.
