Gide has been selected, in consortium with Dar Al-Handasah (technical consultant), Setec (subcontractor of the technical consultant) and Lazard (financial advisor), to advise the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, represented by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on the development and execution of the Red Sea - Dead Sea Project in Jordan.
This Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) project includes the construction and operation of a desalination plant and a water conveyance pipeline between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea.
The main objectives of this project are to produce desalinated water and to stabilize the Dead Sea water level.
Gide's team dedicated to advising the Government consists of partner John Crothers assisted by counsel Marie Bouvet-Guiramand and associate Barthélemy Littot. On Jordan law aspects, Gide is assisted by senior partner Aiman Odeh and managing partner Firas Bakr, of the Jordanian law firm Bakr & Odeh.
