Gide is a partner of the Central and Eastern Europe Statistics 2014 report published by the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) Central and Eastern Europe Task Force.
This document provides annual activity statistics for the private equity and venture capital markets of Central and Eastern Europe in 2014 and prior years. The data shows a broad improvement in private equity fundraising, investment and divestment activity in CEE, with rising participation from domestic and regional investment firms, as well as increased interest from pan-European and global private equity investment groups.
The significant findings from the CEE Statistics 2014 report include:
The statistics contained in this report are based solely on the “market approach”, wherein information is compiled to show activity in a particular country, regardless of the origin or location of private equity fund managers. This contrasts with the “industry approach” showing the activity of fund managers based in a particular country, and which is not applied in this paper. The EVCA believes that using the market approach gives a more accurate picture of the overall investment trends and activities in the markets of Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) due to the predominance of regional funds and fund managers.
For the purposes of this publication, CEE comprises the countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
The report can be found on the EVCA website.
