From 5 to 11 June, Gide invites all its employees and lawyers to recycle their business clothing and make a donation to charity La Cravate Solidaire.
Following a study indicating that physical appearance was a key factor in deciding whether a job applicant was hired, ahead of gender, age and skin colour, La Cravate Solidaire makes available quality business attire to all those who do not necessarily have the budget to buy new clothing suitable for a job interview, in order to help improve candidates’ chances in their job search.
The charity offers comprehensive support to those in need, including image counselling, so that candidates feel more confident in their “new” clothing, as well as CV, cover letter and interview tips to improve their chances of being hired.
La Cravate Solidaire’s objective is therefore to ensure that those applicants it supports are in the best possible position to be successful in their job search.
This clothing drive is a part of Gide’s Pro Bono policy, which supports actions in France and abroad that meet one of the following three criteria: supporting those most in need, access to law and justice, and access to education.
