16 June 2013: Gide, counsel to Crédit Agricole CIB on the sale of Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux to Kepler Capital Markets
Gide Loyrette Nouel has advised Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank (Crédit Agricole CIB) on the sale of Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux (CA Cheuvreux) to Kepler Capital Markets (Kepler), as announced when the two firms entered into exclusive negotiations in July 2012.
CA Cheuvreux and Kepler will join forces to become the independent leader in Europe for equity brokerage. This merger represents the natural next step following the strategic alliance signed between Kepler and UniCredit Bank AG in 2011, and further strengthens the brokerage platform.
Crédit Agricole CIB has become a long-term partner and strategic shareholder in the group, with a shareholding of 15%, via a capital increase. Upon the closing, UniCredit also acquired a 5% stake in the new group.
