On 27 February 2015, the Université de Lorraine in eastern France signed a public-private partnership contract with project company Melotech, a subsidiary wholly owned by Eiffage S.A.
Following on from the GreEn-ER innovation centre project in Grenoble focusing on energy and natural resources control, the UEB@campus regional digital campus in Brittany, the Campus Grand Lille Eurasport health development centre and allotment campus, and the rehabilitation and expansion of the university campus in Aix-en-Provence, this is the Eiffage group’s fifth partnership contract as part of the Opération Campus de Rénovation des Universités (University Campus Refurbishment Operation).
The partnership is entered into for 27 years and 3 months, and covers the financing, design & build, operation and maintenance of two blocks totalling a surface area of 14,800 sq. m. in the Technopôle de Metz (Metz Science and Technology Park):
The project’s EUR 32.6 million investment is covered through bank financing by Société Générale for the construction phase (construction loan and VAT credit) and the operating phase (project and Dailly loans).
Gide advised Eiffage, with a team comprising partner Thomas Courtel, counsel Marie Bouvet-Guiramand, and associates Mathilde Bonnet and Raphaëlle Gout.
