Gide advises Partech Ventures in connection with the structuring and formation of the Paris Saclay Seed Fund, which aims to invest in and nurture technological and service start-ups created by students, recent graduates and researchers of Paris-Saclay University and its members.
The fund just announced its first closing at 50 million euros, with investors such as Bpifrance via the Fonds National d’Amorçage (FNA) which is managed as part of the “Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir”. The fund is managed by Partech Ventures and, for life sciences investments, by Kurma Partners, and its investors include a number of major industrial and corporate groups (BNP Paribas, Chanel, Cisco, Econocom, EDF, Groupama, JC Decaux Holding, Orange, RATP and Société Générale) who will support Paris-Saclay University’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Entrepreneurs and alumni of the Paris-Saclay University also invested in the fund.
Gide’s team was led by private fund partner Ann Baker and included counsel Rima Maîtrehenry and associate Valentin Olivet on legal and regulatory aspects, as well as partner Christian Nouel on tax aspects.
