Gide has advised Naval Group on setting up a 50/50 joint venture with Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri.
This agreement, signed in Rome on 14 June, is part of the Poseidon project and is an important step in strengthening cooperation in naval defence, with a view to establishing a more efficient and competitive European shipbuilding industry.
Effective implementation of the joint venture is subject to customary conditions for this type of operation and necessary approvals by the competent authorities.
Gide's team advising Naval Group was headed by partner Anne Tolila, working with associate Pierre-Antoine Degrolard on corporate/M&A aspects, and partner Stéphane Hautbourg on competition law aspects.
Italian law firm Chiomenti advised Naval Group on Italian law matters, with partner Filippo Modulo and associate Maria Vittoria Marchiolo.
