Gide has advised HNA Tourism Group, the tourism division of the Chinese conglomerate HNA Group, which notably owns and operates airlines, hotels, tour operators, financial activities and internet services, on its 10% equity investment in Euronext Paris-listed Pierre et Vacances SA.
This equity investment is part of a strategic partnership between the two groups.
The partnership provides for the development in China of new types of tourism destinations inspired by the Center Parcs and Pierre & Vacances concepts, and of mountain resorts in China in view of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. These projects will be implemented through a joint venture 60% owned by HNA Tourism Group, and 40% owned by Groupe Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs.
Gide advised HNA Tourism Group on the French aspects of the transaction with a team comprising partners David Boitout and Antoine Tézenas du Montcel and associate Lu Chen.
