AddUp, French leader in the design, creation and marketing of 3D metal printing machines and workshops, based in Clermont-Ferrand (central France), a joint venture between Fives and Michelin, has just announced the 100% acquisition of BeAM, based in Strasbourg, and leader in directed energy deposition (DED) additive solutions dedicated to the production of large parts and the repairs market.
Established in 2012 in Strasbourg with its subsidiaries in Cincinnati and Singapore, BeAM is a French manufacturer of metal additive manufacturing industrial machines using DED technology and serving a number of clients both in France and abroad, in particular in the aeronautics, defence and energy sectors.
This acquisition enables AddUp to broaden its portfolio of metal additive manufacturing technologies, strengthen its worldwide geographical coverage and bolster its position as a leader in the French metal 3D printing sector.
AddUp was represented by Gide, with partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre and associate Morgan Maréchal on corporate aspects; partner Jean-Hyacinthe de Mitry and associate Nicolas Le Pays du Teilleul on IP aspects; and associate Elena Piotrowski on employment law aspects. Gide had already advised on the establishment of the joint venture between Michelin and Fives in the metal 3D printing sector in 2015 and 2016.
The sellers, BNP Paribas Développement and business angels, were represented by lawyers Claudia Bravo-Monroy and François Romain (Bordeaux).
