Partner Fan Jiannian, head of Gide’s Shanghai office, is for the third time on China Business Law Journal (CBLJ)’s A-List, a compilation of the top 100 Chinese elite lawyers for China-related business.
CBLJ, a leading industry magazine in China, compiles the annual list based on recommendations from corporate legal counsel, senior officers and legal colleagues based in China and around the world. This year from the more than 1,000 nominations received, CBLJ selected 100 lawyers each from both Chinese and foreign law firms. The list may be viewed online.
Jiannian specializes in cross-border M&A and corporate finance. He advises multinational, listed and non-listed clients on their activities in Greater China across a broad range of sectors, including the automotive, equipment manufacturing, industrial gas, bio-medicine and consumer retail industries. In recent years, Jiannian has been advising more and more Chinese companies on their outbound investments and M&A transactions abroad, among his clients are China Export-Import Bank, Bank of Communications, Moutai, Semir, and Icicle.
Named twice to CBLJ’s A-List of Top 100 in 2016 and 2018. In 2019, Jiannian has contributed, as Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief, to the drafting and compilation of a legal guide entitled “A Practical Guide to In-House Counsels” published by Press Law; being recognized for his excellent practice in M&A transactions, he was also named to 2020 Best Lawyers in China. His working languages are Chinese (Mandarin), English and French.

范建年擅长跨境并购和公司融资，并就上市及非上市跨国企业客户在大中华区开展业务提供法律咨询，广泛涉及汽车、设备制造、工业气体、生物医药和消费零售等行业。近年来，范建年也为中国进出口银行，中国交通银行、茅台、森马、之禾等多家中国企业提供境外投资并购的法律咨询。
范建年曾于2016年和2018年两次入选《商法》100位中国法律精英名录。2019年他担任执行副主编参与编写了由法律出版社出版的法律实务类工具全书《公司法务实务操作指引》并因其在并购领域的突出表现入选Best Lawyers 2020中国最佳律师榜单。范建年的工作语言为中文，英文和法文。
