Gide, along with “best friends” firms Cuatrecasas, Chiomenti, and Gleiss Lutz, held a seminar on Chinese foreign direct investment in Europe under the new EU foreign investment review framework in Beijing on 4 July.
Representing Gide, partner Guo Min spoke about French FDI screening rules based on the newly promulgated PACTE (Action Plan for Business Growth and Transformation) law.
Cuatrecasas partner Pablo Cubel, Chiomenti counsel Sergio Scanu, and Gleiss Lutz partner Michael Burian also gave presentations respectively on foreign investment controls in the EU, Spain and Portugal, Italy, and Germany.
The seminar, which was hosted by the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), was notably attended by BAC Deputy Secretary-General Chen Fuyong. Also in attendance were arbitrators involved in cross-border business, as well as representatives of BAC member law firms and Chinese corporations with international investments.
