Stéphane Puel appointed expert member of the Haut Comité Juridique de la Place Financière de Paris

Partner Stéphane Puel has been appointed as expert member of the Haut Comité Juridique de la Place Financière de Paris. This legal committee has been created and initiated by the AMF (France financial markets regulator) and the Banque de France. An independent body, it relies on recognized experts and will help anticipate international trends and development, and define the Paris financial marketplace’s legal positions.

The objectives of the Haut Comité are as follows:

  • To propose reform projects that can promote the legal competitiveness of the Paris marketplace,
  • To support and assist public authorities in their negotiation of European and international texts,
  • To heighten legal security by providing answers to legal questions impacting all financial players, be they public or private.

The Banque de France and the AMF actively took part in setting up the Haut Comité, whose creation had been decided during the AMF’s 2013-2016 strategic plan.

The Direction Générale du Trésor, the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) and the Chancery also take part in the Committee’s meetings.
