Move | United Kingdom - Dispute Resolution | Gide strengthens its International Dispute Resolution practice in London
Gide Loyrette Nouel ('Gide' or 'The Firm') is pleased to announce the relocation of arbitration partner Rupert Reece to the firm's London office, to strengthen the firm's international arbitration and dispute resolution practice in the UK. A dual-qualified Barrister and Avocat à la Cour, Rupert has been a partner in the firm's Paris office since 2001, specialising in international arbitration and dispute resolution proceedings relating to joint ventures, construction contracts and international trade.
Rupert joins London-based dispute resolution partner Adam Rooney, and a dedicated team of six fee earners, providing a multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution service including commercial and banking litigation, arbitration, ADR and risk management.
The London IDR team is a key part of Gide's global Dispute Resolution practice, comprising over 140 lawyers, and plays a key role in the Firm's UK law capability. The London team is adept in managing complex multi-jurisdiction disputes and is uniquely placed to bridge the common law and civil law systems in which our clients operate.
Adam Rooney commented: "We are delighted that Rupert is joining us in London. His arbitration expertise will greatly complement our current team."
Pierre Raoul-Duval, arbitration partner in Paris and former Senior Partner of the Firm, says: "Rupert's move to London is an important step in the development of our international arbitration team and will reinforce our position as a leading arbitration practice, able to handle disputes in both civil and common law jurisdictions."
Rupert says: "I originally came to Paris expecting to stay only 6 months - in fact I stayed 17 years! It is exciting to come back now to the UK and to the opportunities presented by the London arbitration market. With our client base and international network, there is a lot for Gide to do here and I am looking forward to contributing to the long-term growth of the firm's London office, which is integral to our firm's global strategy."
