Law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel is delighted to announce the appointment of Philippe Dupichot as University Professor (Professeur des universités) at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne as of the start of academic year 2013-2014. Philippe is a lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar and Senior Counsel at the firm, and was formerly a professor at the Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC).
Philippe Dupichot chairs the Master 2 postgraduate course on Ingénierie juridique et fiscale du patrimoine (Legal and tax engineering for wealth) at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and lectures in civil and commercial law, in particular contracts, goods, securities and corporate law. A secretary to the group reforming securities law from 2003 to 2005, he co-heads the section on Securities Law of the Droit et patrimoine magazine, and is the author of various academic publications. A founder and co-head of the Henri Capitant Law Review, Philippe is the Secretary General to the Association Henri Capitant des amis de la culture juridique française, and a member of the editorial committee of Bulletin Joly Sociétés.
As Senior Counsel within Gide’s Real Estate department, Philippe Dupichot is regularly consulted on business contracts and real estate finance structuring. Additionally, Philippe is a member of Gide’s Scientific Council, which comprises several experts (Senior Counsels, academics and magistrates) and chairs conferences for the firm’s clients and lawyers alike, as well as for the Paris Bar’s continuous training programme. Gide’s Scientific Council is consulted to help define the firm’s internal training policy, in particular to improve associates’ key skills, and maintains close ties with the various academic societies supported by Gide.
