8 October 2013 - Gide receives the Trophées Pro Bono Special Jury Award
On Monday 7 October, during the Trophées Pro Bono ceremony organised by the Paris Bar association’s Solidarity fund in the Paris City Hall, Gide received the Special Jury Award for its all-encompassing Pro Bono action. The event, currently in its second year, highlights charity projects conducted by lawyers, either on a personal level or at firm level.
The five categories were:
• Access to Law and Justice and Defending Human Rights
• Promoting diversity and Combating exclusion
• Sustainable development and Environmental causes
• Promoting social entrepreneurship and economic development
• Access to health and education
Considering the support given to charities active in four of these five categories and the actions led by all firm members, Gide was awarded a special prize for its overall pro bono action.
Gide’s Pro Bono programme was launched in 2011. Its endowment fund is contributed to every year by all partners and is used to offer financial support to projects selected according to three driving themes: access to law and justice, access to education, and solidarity with those most in need. Additionally, each firm member, whether lawyer or support staff, can spend up to 40 hours per year of their office time on volunteer work for one of the ten charities supported.
All charity actions led by the firm are detailed in our Pro Bono annual report (currently only available in French).
