Clément Bouvarel - Gide Brussels
Competition & International Trade
Admitted to the Paris and Brussels Bars in 2017, Clément Bouvarel is a Counsel in Gide's Competition & International Trade practice group in Brussels.
He specialises in trade defence instruments –anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, safeguard– in Europe and other countries (Turkey, Canada, Gulf States, Morocco, etc.), as well as in European and WTO law. He has assisted the European steel industry as well as various manufactured and metallurgical products industries against unfair imports and has advised European ceramics and sugar exporters in proceedings outside Europe.
Clément also advises clients on trade-related regulatory issues, free trade agreements, WTO compliance, export controls, sanctions and litigation before European courts.
Clément studied at ENS Cachan and the University of Rennes I. He holds a Master's degree in international trade law from Paris Ouest Nanterre - La Défense and an LL.M. from Trinity College, Dublin. He speaks French and English.
Julie Brulé - Gide Paris
Insurance
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2011, Julie Brulé is a Counsel in Gide's Insurance department in Paris.
Julie advises insurers, complementary health insurers, reinsurers and insurance intermediaries on the legislative and regulatory framework applicable to their activities. In particular, she assists these organisations in litigation proceedings before the French regulatory and supervisory authority (ACPR) and the courts.
She also assists industrial groups and tertiary sector companies on all aspects of their insurance issues.
Julie holds a Master's degree in Corporate Law from the University of Paris-Dauphine and a Master's degree in Insurance Law from the University of Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Nicolas Capelli - Gide Paris
Banking & Finance / Funds structuring
A member of the Paris Bar since 2015, Nicolas is a Counsel in Gide's Investment Funds and Financial Services team.
He assists management companies in the structuring of private equity, venture capital, mezzanine and infrastructure investment funds as well as French and foreign institutional investors. Nicolas also regularly assists management companies and sponsors in secondary transactions, including GP-led and preferred equity transactions.
Nicolas is a graduate of the University of Caen (Master 2 DJCE) and of HEC Paris (Master International Risks Management).
Sophie Creusvaux - Gide Paris
Insurance
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2011, Sophie Creusvaux is a member of Gide's Insurance department, where she specialises in French and EU insurance law.
Sophie has in-depth experience of all insurance law fields (life and non-life insurance). She regularly acts in an advisory capacity and provides litigation assistance to insurers and reinsurers regarding stock market issues.
Sophie has extensive experience in managing strategic litigation, particularly in the area of class actions.
She holds Master's degrees in the law of business activities, business law, and insurance law, all from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (first-class honours).
Perrine Delandre - Gide Paris
Projects (Finance & Infrastructure)
A member of the Paris Bar since 2016, Perrine specialises in projects, project finance and banking, and structured finance.
She specialises in the infrastructure, energy, real estate, hotels and tourism fields, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. She advises public authorities, investors, promoters and industrialists (local or foreign), whom she assists in the realization of development projects, during their structuring, implementation (during construction and operation) and financing phases.
Perrine advises governments on strategic sectoral reforms, structuring transactions, and the drafting and negotiating of contractual documentation for the projects concerned.
She is also involved in the implementation of large-scale financing on the African continent, as well as on the European market, for clients who wish to expand their activities in Europe.
Perrine is a graduate of the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Master 2, Banking and Finance Law and Master 2, Business Law).
Aude-Laurène Dourdain - Gide Paris

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2014, Aude-Laurène Dourdain specialises in capital markets and corporate finance.
Aude-Laurène acts for French and foreign arrangers and issuers on a wide range of market transactions, including debt securities (EMTN Program, bond issues, liability management, Euro PP), equity securities (IPO, capital increase, private placements, block sales and dual listings), and issues of securities giving access to capital (OCEANE, ORA). She also assists companies with their day-to-day issues relating to corporate law, stock exchange law and the governance of listed companies.
Aude-Laurène is a graduate of EDHEC Business School and holds a Master's degree in corporate law from the Université Catholique de Lille. She previously worked three years in a French law firm in Casablanca.
Louis Fearn - Gide Paris

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2019, Louis Fearn is a Counsel in Gide's Banking & Finance department in Paris. Louis specialises in acquisitions and corporate finance.
Louis has developed his expertise by advising borrowers and private equity funds as well as lenders (senior lenders and debt funds) on a wide range of transactions, including leveraged and corporate financings and debt restructurings. He has also developed an expertise in equity bridge financing for both banks and funds.
Louis holds a Master's degree in Financial Law from the University of Paris Saclay - ESCP Europe. Prior to joining Gide, Louis worked for an international law firm in Paris.
Diane Jouffroy - Gide Paris

Admitted to the New York Bar in 2015 and the Paris Bar in 2017, Diane Jouffroy specialises in corporate law, with a particular focus on private equity, venture capital and mergers and acquisitions.
She advises both start-up companies and investment funds in the context of investment rounds, restructuring operations, and external growth transaction and liquidity events (such as acquisitions or sales).
Diane holds an LL.M. from New York University (NYU) and a Masters and Law degree in French and Anglo-American law from the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre - La Défense.
Morgan Maréchal - Gide Paris
Corporate / M&A
A member of the Paris Bar since 2016, Morgan Maréchal is a Counsel in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice group. She is particularly involved in domestic and cross-border acquisitions and joint ventures.
As part of her practice, Morgan regularly advises banking institutions in connection with their strategic transactions. Morgan recently acted for Société Générale in connection with Boursorama's acquisition of ING Retail and the establishment of an automotive financing joint venture with Kia-Hyundai in 2022.
Morgan also advises major industrial players on joint venture transactions. In particular, she advised Michelin on the establishment of two strategic industrial partnerships with Faurecia and Fives.
She holds a Master 2 DJCE - Corporate and Business Law degree from the University of Rennes 1 and an LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Exeter.
Elise Mignard - Gide Paris

Elise Mignard has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2007 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2021. She specialises in insurance and liability law.
She specialises in non-life insurance litigation (construction insurance, damage, civil and professional liability, special and industrial risks).
She assists insurance companies in responding to consultations relating to insurance law and represents them in pre-litigation, litigation, judicial expertise and mediation on large-scale cases with financial and/or strategic implications. She also assists the firm's Real-Estate Transactions & Financing department on various aspects of insurance law. Elise regularly publishes in her fields of expertise.
Elise holds a Master's degree in Public Economic Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (2006) and a Master's degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (2005). She has taught at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
Marie Robert-Schmid - Gide Paris
Dispute Resolution
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2015, Marie Robert-Schmid is a Counsel in Gide's litigation department in Paris.
Marie assists her clients in banking and financial litigation, as well as in contractual and corporate law disputes.
She appears in disciplinary proceedings before banking and financial regulators (AMF and ACPR) in relation to market abuse and compliance by regulated institutions with their professional obligations (investigations, audits and sanction proceedings), as well as in civil proceedings, particularly equity litigation, and financial criminal law proceedings (market abuse, suspicious transaction reports, etc.).
Marie also advises financial institutions in complex cases involving several jurisdictions or regulators, including cases of a transnational nature.
Marie holds a Master II degree in Business Litigation and Arbitration from the Law School of Sciences Po Paris and a Master II degree in International Trade Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Alexander Tompkins - Gide London

Admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales since 2014, Alexander Tompkins is a Counsel in Gide's Structured Finance and Securitisation team in London.
He acts for financial institutions, commodity traders, fintech companies and a range of corporates on their securitisation, structured finance, receivables finance and trade finance transactions. He works on trade receivables securitisation transactions and receivables financings across Europe and North America, and complex end-to-end business trade finance and refinancing deals. Alexander also works on trade finance transactions involving bills of exchange, bills of lading and promissory notes, including export financing and funded and unfunded participation programmes.
Alexander advises fintech companies on the establishment of new receivables sales products, including the digitization of receivables-backed financing and platform-based lending. Finally, Alexander is involved in a number of collateralised loan obligation (CLO) transactions.
He studied at the University of Plymouth Law School and University College London (UCL). He is the co-author of the "UK Trends & Developments" chapter of the Chambers Securitisation 2023 guide.
Sarah Whitley - Gide Paris
Banking & Finance
A Solicitor in England and Wales since 2012, Sarah is a Counsel in the Banking & Finance team.
Sarah advises financial institutions (banks and multilateral development institutions in their emerging market financings), as well as corporate borrowers and sponsors. She advises on a wide variety of transactions, from corporate financings to multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Previously, Sarah worked in the London office before moving to Paris. She was also seconded to Moscow and Ho Chi Minh City and to the legal team at Société Générale.
Sarah is a graduate of Newcastle Law School and the London School of Law.
