Founded in 1983, DomusVi is one of the leading providers of care and assistance to people who are frail due to age or illness, thanks to innovative services, homes and therapies that preserve their quality of life and their relationships. Present in eight countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands and Latin America) with more than 425 nursing homes, more than 70 senior residences, psychiatric hospitals and dedicated day centres and more than 80 home care agencies, DomusVi offers a comprehensive range of services to more than 70,000 residents and clients in Europe and Latin America.
Gide has advised DomusVi on establishing and financing its second OPCI real estate investment scheme "ImmoVi II", for a total investment amount of EUR 139 million from a pool of lessors comprising Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, CM-CIC and BNP Paribas. The portfolio, held indirectly by the OPCI "ImmoVi II" via dedicated non-trading real estate company (SCI - Société Civile Immobilière) subsidiaries, comprises 10 establishments for the elderly located in France, including eight new assets and two assets to be refurbished, representing a total of nearly 900 beds.
The Gide team advising DomusVi was headed by partner Frédéric Nouel, working with associates Marion Toualit and Candice Veroux on M&A and real estate aspects, as well as partner Laurent Modave on tax aspects.
This transaction follows the creation and financing in April 2020 of a first OPCI "ImmoVi" for the construction and ownership via dedicated SCI subsidiaries of a portfolio of 10 establishments, for an investment of EUR 120 million and for which Group DomusVi had already received legal assistance from Gide.
