Gide has advised Société Générale in the context of its agreement with Mauritius Commercial Bank, one of the main and oldest banking institutions in Mauritius, to acquire a stake in Mauritius Commercial Bank Mozambique (MCBM). Société Générale will own the majority of the capital through a capital increase reserved for the Group.
The operation must be approved by the Central Bank of Mozambique.
The Gide team advising Société Générale on this operation comprised partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre and Christophe Monnet with Miranda assistance in Mozambique.
