Our international office Gide Warsaw advised KGHM International Ltd. on the sale of mining assets located in the Sudbury Basin in central Ontario, Canada, to the Canadian mining company Magna Mining. The transaction includes the sale of the active McCreedy West mine and three other currently inactive mines: Levack, Podolsky and Kirkwood, along with a number of exploration projects: Falconbridge Footwall, Northwest Foy, North Range, and Rand. The total value of the transaction will be around 30 million Canadian dollars. The transaction, which is subject to meeting certain conditions precedent, is expected to be closed by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
Gide's team, consisting of Partner Dariusz Tokarczuk, Counsel Wojciech Czyżewski and senior associate Edyta Zalewska, was responsible for providing comprehensive support to the client during the transaction, including the preparation and negotiation of transaction documents.
The client was supported in terms of Canadian regulations by the law firm McCarthy Tetrault.
