Four new partners at Gide
Gide is pleased to announce the promotion to Partner of four young lawyers in Brussels and Paris: Anna Dias (Competition & International Trade) in Brussels, Victor Grandguillaume (Projects – Finance & Infrastructure), Constantin Miliotis (Real Estate Transactions & Financing) and Laurent Vincent (Banking & Finance – International Capital Markets) in Paris. The appointments are effective as of 1 January 2020.

Competition & International TradeAdmitted to the Paris and Brasília Bars, Anna Claudia Coelho Dias (36) specialises in international trade law and in European competition law. She has in-depth experience of trade defence instruments (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard procedures) and WTO law. Anna also advises companies and governments on regulatory issues arising from globalisation, including market access, regulatory barriers, discriminatory practices, export control, free-trade agreements, etc. As regards trade defence, Anna represents sectors of the European industry when they face unfair international competition and wish to file a complaint with the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission. She also represents European and non-European clients that are targeted by trade defence investigations initiated by competitors before third-country authorities such as the United States, China, Brazil, Morocco, India, Russia, Jordan or Turkey. Anna also acts in disputes brought before the EU Court of Justice and the WTO by major players in several industrial sectors (energy, steel, paper, food processing, etc.). She holds a Master’s degree in International Business Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (2011), an LL.M. from Columbia University (2010), and a Master’s degree in law from Uniceub Brasília University (2006).

Banking & Finance – International Capital MarketsAdmitted to the Paris Bar in 2008, Laurent Vincent (38) specialises in capital markets and has recognised expertise in structured products. He regularly advises financial institutions and French and foreign corporates on their issuance, investment, debt-rating and liability management transactions. Laurent also has a strong expertise in derivatives, structured products and related regulatory and post-market issues. He notably assists financial institutions and commercial companies with the structuring and documentation of their derivative transactions, repos/stock-lending transactions and on the regulatory and documentation issues associated with clearing. More generally, Laurent advises on a wide range of securities issues and on various aspects of stock markets and financial regulations. Prior to joining Gide’s International Capital Markets team, Laurent worked for seven years within the International Capital Markets team of a Magic Circle law firm. He holds an LL.M. in commercial and financial law (2008) from King’s College London, a Master’s degree in banking and financial law (2006) and a Master’s degree in business law (2004) from the Paris II Panthéon-Assas University. Laurent also holds teaching positions in various master degrees of Sciences Po Paris and Paris II Panthéon-Assas University.

Projects (Finance & Infrastructure)Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2009, Victor Grandguillaume (35) is a member of the Projects (Finance & Infrastructure) practice group where he focuses on projects in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. He advises private sponsors, international financial institutions and public authorities on structuring their projects, drafting and negotiating project documents (concession agreements, power purchase agreements, EPC and O&M agreements, provision agreements) and implementing financing. Victor has developed recognised expertise in the energy sector and has advised leading players on their projects for the production of conventional and renewable energy (PV, wind and hydro). He frequently acts for clients in the natural resources industry, on integrated mining projects (bauxite, phosphate, iron, manganese) and hydrocarbon projects (hydrocarbon storage and refinery projects in particular). Lastly, in the infrastructure industry, Victor’s expertise includes the development of drinking water treatment projects, ports and airports. He has in-depth expertise of Africa, particularly French-speaking countries, and OHADA law. He is a graduate of ESCP-Europe (Master in Management, Finance, 2007) and Paris XI University (Master 2 Juriste d’Affaires, Business Law, 2007).

Real Estate Transactions & FinancingAdmitted to the Paris Bar in 2007, Constantin Miliotis (37) specialises in real estate and town planning, the acquisition and financing of property projects, construction law, and commercial leases. He acts for French and foreign operators alike on all aspects of real estate deals and is highly experienced in the structuring and development of real estate projects (from design through to marketing) and deals (share deals, asset deals). Constantin advises institutional investors, developers, property companies, investment funds, management companies, high-profile users and major brands. He holds a postgraduate degree (DESS) in real estate law (2006) and a Master’s degree in private law (2005), both from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University.
