03 December 2012: Gide, counsel to Groupe Auchan on the acquisition of Real's hypermarkets (Metro) in Eastern Europe
Gide Loyrette Nouel advises Groupe Auchan on the acquisition of Real's business in Central and Eastern Europe. Groupe Auchan will take over the operational activities and real estate assets of the Metro Groupe subsidiary in Poland, Romania, Russia and Ukraine.
The acquisition of Real Eastern Europe comprises 91 Real hypermarkets in Poland, Russia, Romania and Ukraine, as well as 13 shopping centers in Russia and Romania. The purchase price of this transaction amounts to EUR 1.1 bn.
The acquisition still requires approval by the relevant antitrust authorities and will most likely be closed in 2013.
