26 January 2012: Gide advises GE Energy on its partnership with EDF
Gide Loyrette Nouel has advised GE Energy on the signature of its strategic partnership with EDF to jointly develop and install the world's first FlexEfficiency 50 Combined Cycle Power plant.
The plant is expected to achieve greater than 61 percent efficiency at base load, which will reduce natural gas consumption and thereby reduce the production of greenhouse gases. Its operating flexibility will enable the plant to respond quickly to fluctuations in grid demand, paving the way for greater use of renewable resources such as wind and solar. The new plant will be operational in 2015 to provide power for the equivalent of up to 600,000 French households.
The Gide Loyrette Nouel team, led by Stanislas Dwernicki (partner) with Antoine Mary, Loris Marghieri and Rémi Ducloyer, advised notably on the real estate law and regulatory aspects of the partnership (cooperation agreement, implementing rights in rem, etc.).
