29 August 2013: Gide, counsel to Casino on their purchase of Galeries Lafayette’s shares in Monoprix
Gide Loyrette Nouel and Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier have advised Casino on their purchase of a 50% stake in Monoprix from Galeries Lafayette, in accordance with a settlement agreement signed on 26 July 2012.
This transaction led to the implementation of a temporary holding arrangement by a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank SA.
Further to the approval of the French Competition Authority on 11 July 2013, Casino finalised on 24 July 2013 the acquisition of the 50% stake in Monoprix held as part of this temporary holding arrangement.
The purchase price, amounting to EUR 1.175 billion, was paid off when the temporary holding arrangement was implemented on 5 April 2013.
