Gide has advised Seedstars Africa Ventures Investment Management (Maxime Bouan, Tamim El Zein) on the structuring of the fund Seedstars Africa Ventures I S.L.P. and on the completion of its first closing with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Seedstars Africa Ventures I S.L.P. is structured as a French limited partnership (société de libre partenariat – SLP) and aims to finance Africa-based companies with a focus on innovative companies, leveraging their expertise in digital technologies to provide access to basic needs such as education, healthcare, and utilities. Seedstars Africa Ventures I S.L.P. promotes environmental and/or social characteristics within the meaning of Article 8 of the Disclosure Regulation (2019/2088) and is open to professional investors.
The Gide team was composed of Benjamin Delaunay, partner, and Antoine Nicolaï, associate, as regards the structuring of the SLP and negotiations with investors; Paul Jourdan-Nayrac, partner, as regards corporate aspects; and Alexandre Bochu, partner, as regards tax matters.
