Gide advises Majority Shareholders of Baobab Group on potential sale to Beltone
Gide’s Casablanca, Paris and Brussels offices are assisting the main shareholders of Baobab Group – a leading African financial services provider specializing in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises – on the sale of a controlling interest to Beltone, a financial services provider focused on the MENA region and headquartered in Egypt.
The completion of the transaction, which is expected to enhance Baobab’s ability to deliver long-term value to its customers and stakeholders while furthering its mission to expand financial inclusion across Africa, is conditional upon a number of regulatory approvals and merger filings.
Gide’s team is led by partner Simon Auquier, with counsel Salim Zobiri and associates Amina Bensaid and Abdallah Ktiri. Partner Ségolène Pelsy handles antitrust / merger filing issues in ECOWAS, COMESA, etc. and Bénédicte Perrier oversees labor law issues.
Beltone is assisted by Asafo & Co (Patrick Larrivé).
