Orestes Catsoulis is an associate in Gide's "Economic and European" Law team in Brussels.

His practice focuses on competition law and European regulation. He advises on antitrust, merger control, state aid, foreign subsidies and internal market rules. He is also very active in public affairs and advocacy, providing strategic advice on the development of European rules and the implementation of policies by legislative, regulatory and supervisory institutions.

He has represented clients in merger control and FSR/FDI screening, particularly in the banking, aerospace, energy, and telecom sector. He also regularly handles competition and internal market complaints before the Commission and actively advises on the development of the Capital Markets Union.

Before joining Gide in 2023, he worked as an associate in international law firms in Brussels and Luxembourg. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics (LL.M.) and the KU Leuven. He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2022.
