Matthieu Lucchesi is Counsel in Gide's "255 team" in Paris.
He advises on legal and regulatory strategy in the field of digital and technological transformation. His expertise enables his clients to identify, understand and comply with the regulatory framework applicable to their activities involving innovation and digital technology. In particular, he specialises in issues relating to digital finance (investment platforms, participative financing, crypto-assets, etc.) and digital issues applied in the banking and financial sector (blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc.). Involved in the work of the financial community and professional organisations active in his sector, he ensures that regulatory issues are tackled with a strategic and forward-looking approach.
Matthieu has advised a growth company on the structuring of a stablecoin refinancing activity using money market instruments, a financial institution on the structuring of a securities refinancing operation using a decentralised finance protocol, a financial institution on the first issue of tokenised bonds (registered in a shared electronic recording device), and crowdfunding platforms on their authorisation as a provider of participative financing services with the AMF and the ACPR.
Matthieu was Head of Regulatory Affairs (BNP Paribas Asset Management) in 2018, Autorité des marchés financiers, in 2012, Associate (Sullivan & Cromwell LLP) in 2011.He holds a Magistère in Business Law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (2009), an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (2011).He has been an attorney at the New York Bar since 2011.
