Practices
Marie Parys is an associate in Gide's "international trade" team in Brussels.
She is specialised in trade defence instruments (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard procedures). This includes procedures initiated by the European Commission and by third country authorities. She also works on legal and policy analyses of trade and regulatory instruments under EU and WTO law, as well as on the renewed EU trade toolbox. She has advised industrial and agri-food clients on the appropriate and strategic use of trade defence instruments and the Union international trade acquis.
Marie has worked on a wide range of trade defence cases for various industries. She has also advised a wide range of companies and associations on the legality of new EU instruments under WTO and EU law, including policy and defence assessments, and has advised clients on the appropriate use of the new trade toolbox. Marie has also represented clients in trade defence proceedings brought by third countries.
Marie holds an LL.M. from the College of Europe in Bruges and LL.M. and LL.B. degrees from the KU Leuven. She was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2021.
