Étienne Chesneau is a partner in Gide's Real Estate team in Paris.
His practice covers all areas of real estate law, both advisory and litigation. Étienne advises French and foreign institutional investors on their property acquisitions and disposals. He is involved in setting up partnerships between property investors, between property companies and operators, and in outsourcing operations. He works alongside institutional landlords and major users in auditing and negotiating leases (particularly commercial leases) on all types of assets. He also assists asset managers with the rental management of their property portfolios and with litigation.
Étienne has gained significant experience in advising on building construction and restructuring projects, particularly in negotiating leases and sales "en état futur d'achèvement" (BEFA / VEFA) and negotiating property development contracts (CPI).
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2014, Étienne is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He graduated from ESSEC (Grande École Programme, Real Estate Chair), as well as Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris II - Panthéon-Assas Universities.
