Practices
Marc-Antoine de Chillaz is Counsel in Gide's "Competition" team in Brussels. His practice covers EU regulation, public affairs and competition law.
He has a solid expertise in EU regulatory and advocacy. He works upstream of the publication of legislative and regulatory texts to analyse their content, identify the risks and opportunities for clients, draft position papers and amendments and interact with key decision-makers. He also advises clients downstream, defending the interpretation and implementation of legislative and regulatory texts in line with clients' interests or challenging the legality of these texts before the competent courts.
In competition law, Marc-Antoine works mainly on state aids issues and anti-competitive matters. He advises the firm's clients on all matters relating to the qualification of state aids and their compatibility with the internal market, the notification of state aids to the European Commission, and during investigation procedures. Marc-Antoine also advises clients on antitrust issues, for example in the context of complaints to the European Commission.
Marc-Antoine is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Université Paris II - Panthéon Assas. He was admitted to the Paris and Brussels Bars in 2017.
